Trump Meets with Italian PM Ahead of Biden’s Fairwell Tour

With it being only weeks away from Donald Trump taking office, the former and future president is reaching out to other officials around the globe to get his foreign policy up and running.

As part of that, Trump hosted Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at Mar-a-Lago this weekend.

Ironically, Trump had his meeting with Meloni before Joe Biden, who is set to start his farewell tour this week.

Let’s Get Started

Meloni is a firebrand, so I am sure she and Trump had plenty to talk about.

In fact, rumors are that they watched  “The Eastman Dilemma: Lawfare or Justice” together.

Trump also introduced the Italian PM to some of his incoming officials. I have already seen videos where future Secretary of State, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), was on hand to greet the PM.

Trump was clearly excited to host the PM, stating, “This is very exciting.

“I’m here with a fantastic woman, the prime minister of Italy. She’s really taken Europe by storm, and everyone else, and we’re just having dinner tonight.”

Trump has met Meloni before, as she was also present at the re-opening of Notre Dame in France last month. On that visit, Trump had stated, “I was with her a lot. She’s a real live wire, I will tell you. She’s great.”

In addition to Meloni, Trump has hosted Argentina President Javier Milei, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

Trudeau, however, resigned his position on Monday, likely due to pressure being applied to him by his party, which is up for re-election again in October.

Trudeau has become public enemy number one, and the party is clearly trying to limit the damage with Trump coming into office as well as building up some momentum so the Liberal Party does not get removed from power.

Trump fought with the EU virtually his entire presidency over their NATO contributions, so it will be quite interesting to see if this term gets started on smoother grounds. But it does appear he is off to a good start.
