Trump Legally Purchased Rights to Foo Fighters Song, Despite Band’s Claim
On Friday, Donald Trump had a very important rally.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had just announced that he was suspending his campaign and was going to endorse Trump in the process.
When Kennedy came out on stage, the Foo Fighters song “My Hero” was playing, which triggered the band, but it was much ado about nothing.
We Purchased It
You cannot use songs unless you have the musician’s direct permission or have purchased the rights to the music for an event.
It is the same premise when we use images… you either take them yourself or you use a service where you are charged for the image.
When the song was playing, Wu Tang called out the Foo Fighters on X, asking them if they gave Trump permission to use the song.
The Foo Fighters responded to the post with a simple "No." They also reposted the tweet, adding, “Let us be clear.”
The band then stated, “Foo Fighters were not asked permission, and if they were, they would not have granted it.” The spokesperson further stated that “appropriate actions are being taken” against the Trump campaign.”
Well, there are no actions to be taken because Trump’s campaign stated, “We have a license to play the song.”
The license was purchased through BMI’s Songview service.
Oddly enough, the spokesperson then stated that any royalties earned would be donated to the Harris campaign.
So, if Trump was not legally able to purchase the song, how could they get royalties, right?
The band got torched on X after the initial report came out, with people calling out the band for not realizing the song was up licensing purchases as well as being so woke that Trump using their song would trigger them.
One podcast host, Nick Sorter, even suggested that Trump goes after them, stating, “Foo Fighters LIED about Trump not having permission to use ‘My Hero’ while introducing RFK Jr.
“Trump should SUE these leftist hacks for defamation.”
As is usually the case, though, nobody will see the aftermath, as most leftists are only focused on the statement by the band so they can argue that Trump did something illegal.
These people are beyond broken, and I can only imagine what this country will look like in about 50 years.
