Donald Trump is leading Joe Biden when it comes to independent voters.
It really isn't even all that close.
When given the choice whether to vote for Trump or Biden in a head-to-head scenario, independents chose Donald Trump an incredible 45% of the time. That's eighteen points ahead of the 27% who said they would like Old Man Limp-Wrist Biden in office again.
It wasn't just independents who supported Donald Trump either.
Across all voters, former President Trump still held a pretty nice lead, going over Joe Biden by a score of 45% to 40%.
For the liberals reading this right now, that's a five-point advantage for the Orange Man.
That doesn't mean that Donald Trump has everything all wrapped up though.
Trump is leading by five points in a race where 15% of voters have not yet made up their minds. You don't have to be a mathematician to understand that there's plenty of room in there for Joe Biden to make up that ground.
As much as conservatives may hate to hear it, when debate season came around last time, it didn't exactly go the way of the Republicans.
First, Donald Trump refused to come right out and denounce the Proud Boys. After that, it was the fly on Mike Pence's head that completely stole attention away from whatever point the vice president was making at the time.
If Joe Biden was able to swing momentum in his favor during last debate season, is it possible that he manages to do it again?
It may be possible, but it would probably be more difficult this time. Despite claiming he's fit enough to run again in 2024, Joe Biden looks considerably slower in both body and mind than he appeared at this point in 2019.
