Trump has been crushing it with his Super PAC, but the money has not been getting spent on candidate races.
By all accounts, his main PAC appears to be more of a way for Trump to pay his legal bills resulting from all the lawsuits from his presidency.
Trump has been taking considerable heat on this front, so his response is to start another PAC specifically to support candidates.
MAGA Inc.
First, let me say that I love the idea of him doing this.
Now people know specifically where their money is going and who it is supporting.
Taylor Budowich, a Trump spokesperson, stated, “President Trump is committed to saving America, and Make America Great Again, Inc. will ensure that is achieved at the ballot box in November and beyond.”
I am still a bit peeved about the other PACs, however.
They were always touted as a way to support taking the country back from Democrats, not as a way to pay Trump’s legal bills from the presidency.
I still think he needs to answer for that, especially considering he had more than $250 million in his PAC at one point and as far as I know, little if any ever went out the door to directly support a candidate he endorsed.
Now let’s just hope this is not too late, as Trump has a handful of MAGA candidates that are trailing in battleground states.
They have needed his financial help for some time, so it would still be nice to see him tap his main PAC for money to get ads rolling right now.
