Trump Jr. Suggests Kicking Mainstream Media Out of Briefing Room

We already know the relationship between Donald Trump and the mainstream media will be contentious over the next four years.

Trump has stated he will start with a clean slate, but if they start to treat him unfairly, he will fight back.

Donald Trump Jr., however, suggests changing the makeup of the briefing room outright.

Change the Room

One of the big reasons that Donald Trump won this election was because he thought outside the box in terms of communicating with voters.

Trump did all the traditional media, but he also did a lot of podcasts to reach out to younger voters.

It would appear that his namesake would like to see more of those types of people in the media room.

During a recent podcast, Trump Jr. stated, “We had the conversation about opening up the press room to a lot of these independent journalists.

“If The New York Times has lied, they’ve been averse to everything, they’re functioning as the marketing arm to the Democrat party.

“Why not open it up to people who have larger viewerships, stronger followings?”

There are a total of 49 seats in the briefing room, which the White House controls.

The seating chart, however, is dictated by the White House Correspondents Association, so don’t expect to see any podcasters in the front row.

As much as I despise the mainstream media, kicking them out of the briefing room will only make things worse.

What I would suggest is rotating the podcasters in with some of the more unknown outlets to allow everyone at least one day in the briefing room.

And when the mainstream media lies, start the briefing off by calling them out with the actual facts... hold them accountable, and force them to do their job the right way.
