Trump inauguration to move indoors, weather conditions cited
It has been officially decided.
Donald Trump's inauguration will be moved indoors to avoid the "arctic blast" that will be impacting D.C. that day. This means that seating capacity will be greatly reduced, leading to people with tickets being REMOVED from the guest list.
The event will now be held inside the United States Capitol Rotunda as a result of freezing temperatures.
“The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies will honor the request of the President-elect and his Presidential Inaugural Committee to move the 60th Inaugural Ceremonies inside the U.S. Capitol to the Rotunda,” a spokesperson from the Inaugural Committee announced.
Unfortunately, as the new location has less space, the guest list had to undergo a big cut.
In fact, the Joint Inaugural Committee reported that a “vast majority of ticketed guests will not be able to attend the ceremonies in person.”
“Those with tickets for the Presidential Platform and members of Congress will be able to attend in person,” they continued.
Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to share the news of the winter storm with his followers.
“The weather forecast for Washington, D.C., with the windchill factor, could take temperatures into severe record lows,” Trump wrote in a recent post.
“There is an Arctic blast sweeping the Country. I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way. It is dangerous conditions for the tens of thousands of Law Enforcement, First Responders, Police K9s and even horses, and hundreds of thousands of supporters that will be outside for many hours on the 20th (In any event, if you decide to come, dress warmly,” Trump also said.
The Joint Inaugurual Committee has since encouraged anyone in Washington for the event to “attend other indoor events at indoor venues of their choice to watch the inauguration.”
However, Trump has said that he will “join the crowd at Capital One” after his swearing-in.
Let's pray that Donald Trump's inauguration goes as smoothly as possible!
