Trump Hints At Who He'd Want Running Defense Department

Former President Donald Trump may just have dropped a major hint on who he may have in mind for the role of Secretary of Defense.

He wants HIS PEOPLE running the important parts of the government.

Recently, Trump was asked about his potential selection for Secretary of Defense if he is selected as the GOP presidential nominee in the 2024 race for the White House and, ultimately, becomes the next president of the United States of America.

During Trump’s recent appearance on the Hugh Hewitt Show, he raved about Christopher Miller, who held the role of acting defense secretary after former defense secretary Mark Esper left in 2020.

"You're going to need a Secretary of Defense. You had four of them. Now I’ve named a bunch of people," said Hewitt to Trump.

Hewitt went on to name the candidates he thought would do a great job as the 2024 Secretary of Defense should Trump win back the White House:

• United States Sen. Tom Cotton
• Former United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo
• Former National Security Advisor of the United States Robert O’Brien
• United States Rep. Mike Waltz
• United States Rep. Mike Gallagher

Trump’s response made it clear where his thoughts on the matter were.

There was someone who Hewitt failed to name that Trump had never forgotten.

Christopher Miller.

"Yeah, that’s a good list to start off with. That's, what you just said is a good list to start off with. We have, it's such an important position. You know, we had Miller at the end who did a very good job," Trump noted.

"I thought he was really good. I thought he was very good," Trump said.

If Trump’s comments are any indication about former President Donald Trump’s thoughts about a potential Secretary of Defense, Christopher Miller may very well be called back, and this time, not just as the acting Secretary of Defense.

Do you think Christopher Miller is the right choice for the job?
