Trump Guilty Verdict Backfires on Democrats
Thursday night, the guilty verdict that Democrats have long awaited came in.
No sooner had the verdict been announced than Democrats were hitting the airwaves calling the GOP candidate for president a “convicted felon.”
That seemed to matter little to donors, who hit Trump’s campaign website so hard, it crashed.
Money Flowing
The news blew through the country like wildfire… Trump was found guilty on all 34 felony counts.
Dems and the media celebrated, and Trump supporters flocked to his website to donate their money.
Trump stated, “The Left thinks that if they bury me with enough witch hunts and intimidate my family and associates that I’ll eventually throw up my hands and give up on our America First movement.
“Let me be as clear as possible: I WILL NEVER STOP FIGHTING FOR YOU.”
Trump then sent out a fundraising email that stated, “I’M A POLITICAL PRISONER!
“I was just convicted in a RIGGED political Witch Hunt trial: I DID NOTHING WRONG! They’ve raided my home, arrested me, took my mugshot, AND NOW THEY’VE JUST CONVICTED ME! Crooked Joe Biden needs to get the message — right here, right now — that his chances of a 2nd term END TODAY! BUT FOR THAT TO HAPPEN, OUR IMMEDIATE PUSHBACK MUST BE SO MASSIVE, IT WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY!
“WE MUST MAKE JOE BIDEN REGRET EVER COMING AFTER US! Before the day is over, I’m calling on TEN MILLION pro-Trump patriots to chip in and say: I STAND WITH PRESIDENT TRUMP!”
Then the really big money started to flow, with Elon Musk, among others, throwing their support behind Trump.
One business owner, Sequoia founder Shaun Maguire, dropped $300k on the campaign.
He posted, "I just donated $300k to Trump. I’m prepared to lose friends. Here’s why.
"Back in 2016 I had drunk the media Kool-Aid and was scared out of my mind about Trump.
“As such I donated to Hilary Clinton’s campaign and voted for her.
“By 2020 I was disillusioned and didn’t vote – I didn’t like either option. Now, in 2024, I believe this is one of the most important elections of my lifetime, and I’m supporting Trump.”
Elon Musk added, "Indeed, great damage was done today to the public’s faith in the American legal system. If a former President can be criminally convicted over such a trivial matter – motivated by politics, rather than justice – then anyone is at risk of a similar fate.”
I have stated many times, I believe Trump will beat this on appeal, and I still believe that, but there is simply no way I ever thought this kind of support would flow to Trump after a guilty verdict.
