Trump gives stern warning to Venezuela's Maduro
President Donald Trump just SHUT it DOWN!
When it comes to the illegal inauguration of Nicolás Maduro as Venezuela's president, Trump has issued a stern warning.
Trump wants Venezuela’s opposition leader, Mariá Corina Machado, to remain “safe and alive.”
Machado had been in hiding for weeks on end to ensure her safety but emerged to protest Maduro’s inauguration.
It was not long before she was “violently interceded” by government security forces.
That’s when Trump got involved.
He took to social media to lay down the LAW.
“Venezuelan democracy activist Maria Corina Machado and President-elect Gonzalez are peacefully expressing the voices and the will of the Venezuelan people with hundreds of thousands of people demonstrating against the regime. These freedom fighters should not be harmed, and must stay safe and alive,” Trump wrote in the post.
The Biden administration has also issued a statement on the matter.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that “Nicolás Maduro held an illegitimate presidential inauguration in Venezuela in a desperate attempt to seize power. The Venezuelan people and world know the truth -- Maduro clearly lost the 2024 presidential election and has no right to claim the presidency.”
“The United States rejects the National Electoral Council’s fraudulent announcement that Maduro won the presidential election and does not recognize Nicolás Maduro as the president of Venezuela. We stand ready to support a return to democracy in Venezuela,” Blinken continued.
If there is anyone who knows how to reason with foreign affairs, it is Donald Trump.
For now, all we can do is wait to see how Venezuela responds.
If there’s ever a problem that Trump and Biden are AGREEING is a huge issue, you know it must be bad.
Thankfully, someone who understands foreign affairs is about to take office and will actually be able to do something about it!
We pray with everyone in Venezuela struggling with such a dark and horrible time in the history of their country.
