Trump Gets Shocking Results from Post-Debate Focus Groups

As I watched the debate, I could not help but shake my head when Donald Trump fell for the trap.

He broke… Harris’ insults got to him and he turned this into a personal shouting match rather than sticking to policy.

In those rants, however, Trump did make a few good points, and apparently those points hit home with two key voting groups who are likely to decide this election.

Bringing It Home

The reaction regarding the debate was rather interesting.

For the most part, people agreed that Trump lost the debate, but they also stated that Harris had significant help from the moderators and failed to answer any real questions.

Every question Harris got turned into a hit piece on Donald Trump, with Harris more or less making the case that she is not Trump, so you should vote for her, the same argument Hillary tried to make in 2016.

Reuters had a focus group of undecided voters that watched the debate, and Trump swung them over to his side by simply making some policy statements.

And this included a member of the group that was leaning toward Harris before the debate.

After the debate, Reuters reported, “Reuters interviewed 10 people who were still unsure how they were going to vote in the Nov. 5 election before they watched the debate. Six said afterward they would now either vote for Trump or were leaning toward backing him. Three said they would now back Harris and one was still unsure how he would vote.”

The same thing can be said about independent voters, who now appear to be tracking to Trump after the debate.

Lee Carter, pollster and president of Maslansky + Partners, explained, "I was really, really surprised because the intensity of the independent support was there for Donald Trump and I didn't expect it.

"Independents are tracking very much with Republicans. They're looking for a couple of things. They're looking for answers on immigration, they're looking for answers on the economy. They want to hear that things will get better for them and they also want change from what is happening right now.

"One of the most important things they were looking for last night from Kamala Harris is how are you going to make it different?"

I have to admit, after the debate, I thought it was over, but it looks like I may have jumped the gun.

I have no doubt Trump is going to take a hit here, but the question is if that hit will last or if he can chip away at Harris’ lead and take this race in November.

I know it is not a popular opinion, but I think Trump should challenge Harris to a debate using a moderator from Fox News and a moderator from CNN, like Jake Tapper, who is about as close to fair as you are going to get in the MSM.

Force her hand and make her to be the one to back out. This would give Trump one more chance to move the needle and get the votes he needs to win this election.
