Special Master Appointed in Trump FBI Case

The DOJ got the word on Thursday and it is not happy.

Judge Aileen Cannon has appointed a Special Master in the case.

New York Judge Raymond Dearie will have the honors.

Put the Brakes On

Now, the entire investigation into Trump is on hold until Dearie does his review (although a deadline has been set for the review).

In her ruling, Cannon stated, "The Court does not find it appropriate to accept the Government's conclusions on these important and disputed issues without further review by a neutral third party in an expedited and orderly fashion."

Dearie is a Reagan judge.

However, the big question mark here is that he also happened to sign off on one of the FISA warrants in Russian collusion investigation being run by the FBI against Trump's camp.

A lot of people are wondering why Trump would even submit a name associated with that debacle, but his legal team seems to have faith in the man, so here we go.

I am not defending Dearie, but I would say that the FISA court's judges take for granted that the information they are being presented is true, which clearly was not the case in the Russian collusion.

My point being that I would not read too much into the FISA connection here and have to hope that the legal team that Trump put together on this has done its due diligence on Dearie.
