Trump endorses Jimmy Patronis to fill Matt Gaetz's House seat
By now, you've probably heard at least a little bit about the Matt Gaetz saga. The Florida Republican was picked by Donald Trump to serve in his administration, but concerns about a classified report on Gaetz proved too distracting and were distracting from Trump's agenda.
Gaetz not only decided to withdraw his name from consideration for Trump's administration but also decided NOT to return to Congress.
Now, Trump is backing Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis to take Gaetz's old spot in Florida's 1st Congressional District.
Fans of common sense will be thrilled when they learn that's EXACTLY what Patronis wants to bring back to American culture.
"We need more common sense," he said. It's not "very common" in America these days, according to Patronis.
Much of America is likely to agree.
Being a financial man, one of the areas that Patronis thinks America needs to get things under control is the economy. Endless printing of paper money that the government can't back up has put America into a very awkward spot, and Patronis thinks that Florida should adopt "gold and silver as legal tender" as a result.
"Gold and silver have been trusted assets for thousands of years, and it makes perfect sense to use them as legal tender. I'm launching this study to determine the best way to get it done," Patronis said.
Election Day to replace Gaetz will take place on April 1, but Patronis will first have to get through the special Republican primary contest in January.
Patronis has also scored endorsements from "House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., and House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn.," according to Fox News.
Many Americans wholeheartedly agree that we NEED more common sense in this country.
If Trump thinks that Jimmy Patronis is the man to help accomplish that, then maybe we should give him a chance to show what he's capable of doing.
