Trump Does a Reversal on Mail-in and Early Voting

Donald Trump just did a very good thing for his campaign and the GOP.

Trump is reversing his stance, now encouraging voters to use all outlets to cast their votes, including early voting, absentee voting, and mail-in voting.

And it’s about time.

Go with the Flow

I know there can be problems with these methods of voting, but the fact of the matter is that Democrats embracing early, mail-in, and absentee voting is why Trump lost the 2020 election.

There are a lot of people who do not want to stand in election day lines, nor do they want to leave their home to vote.

The changes made to election laws in 2020 meant that people could vote by requesting a ballot or voting weeks ahead of the general election.

Democrats embraced this, with a huge chunk of their votes coming from these methods, while Trump and the GOP told voters to show up only on election day.

Well, they listened, and while Republicans dominated election-day voting, they got absolutely trounced in early and mail-in voting.

To that point, Trump finally wised up, stating, "Whether you vote absentee, by mail, early in-person or on election day, we are going to protect the vote.

“We make sure your ballot is secure and your voice is heard.  We must swamp the radical Democrats with massive turnout.

“The way to win is to swamp them, if we swamp them with votes they can’t cheat.

“You need to make a plan, register, and vote any way possible. We have got to get your vote."

This will be great news for Republicans, who have a massive elderly voting base, who will now have more opportunities to vote.

I may be in the minority of conservatives who want to see Republicans encourage this, but if Dems are doing it and winning races, we have to answer by using the same playbook.

This could be a game changer, it may actually be THE game changer for the Republican Party in 2024.
