Trump Demand DeSantis Not Run in 2024

I am about to say something that Donald Trump supporters are not going to like but it needs to be said right now.

I should also note that just because you are disappointed in how Trump is acting now does not make you a RINO or a liberal disguised as a conservative, as many will call me for this article.

All it means is that I am holding Donald Trump accountable as I would any other politician.

His last name does give him carte blanche in the party. He is not infallible, contrary to popular belief.

Donald Trump is crossing a line with these hits against Ron DeSantis.

His latest attack and demand are way over the top, especially for a man that says he has the nomination sewn up.

The Tantrum

Trump sounds like a spoiled child right now, and I have no problem saying that.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE in DeSantis' camp would step up and say Trump's endorsement in 2018 put him over the top.

From that point, however, this has all been DeSantis.

He stood up to the lockdowns. He stood up to woke corporations. He had his state so prepared for a major hurricane that the recovery was out of the news cycle within days of it hitting, compared to places like Puerto Rico and New Orleans where the story is still carrying on years after the fact.

And before I get into Trump's rant, how about all the compliments that Trump has paid DeSantis over the years about the job he has been doing?

Were they all lies, or is Trump just making up things now to make himself look like a hero?

To that point, on DeSantis, Trump stated, "Ron DeSanctimonious is playing games!

"The Fake News asks him if he's going to run if President Trump runs, and he says, 'I'm only focused on the Governor's race, I'm not looking into the future.'

"Well, in terms of loyalty and class, that's really not the right answer."

I would say, in terms of loyalty and class, declaring war against one of the top governors in your party is not the right route to take.

He also called DeSantis an "average REPUBLICAN Governor with great Public Relations."

Let's talk about Trump endorsements today…

One of the few checks that Trump wrote from the Save America PAC was a $500,000 ad buy for David Perdue to attack Governor Kemp in the primary… Perdue lost and Kemp won his general election.

DeSantis won this election by 20 points by not asking for Trump's endorsement.

Governor Chris Sununu called Trump "crazy," and beat his Democrat challenger by 15 points.

Trump backed Don Bolduc and he lost his election by 9 points to Senator Maggie Hassen.

Trump backed Mehmet Oz, and he lost to John Fetterman.

Trump backed Tudor Dixon, and she lost to Governor Whitmer.

The list goes on and on of battleground endorsements that not only lost, but that got crushed and cost us down-ballot races.

Trump needs to have some grace and dignity here.

He keeps talking about how he is crushing everyone in the primary, so what difference does it make who runs? Why is he so threatened by Ron DeSantis?

And if Trump truly cared about the conservative movement and this country, not his ego, he would welcome all comers and say let the American people decide. Bring it on because I know they want me and I can win the primary and the general election.

Instead, he is trying take out DeSantis with angry rants that make him look and sound like a lunatic.

We all had so much invested in Trump, and he is tossing it all down the garbage disposal and it is painful to see.

Mr. Trump, you need to do better than this.
