Trump Defamation Verdict Goes Before Appeals Court
Donald Trump is taking another stab at having the verdict in the E. Jean Carroll case tossed out.
Several days ago, his attorneys made their argument before the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals.
Trump was actually in attendance for the appeals hearing after not having attended a single day of the trial.

At the heart of the appeal is whether there was an error made by the trial judge.
The jury was permitted to hear testimony from two other women who had accused Donald Trump of sexual abuse as well as the now-infamous “Access Hollywood” tape that was heard during that election cycle.
Judge Denny Chin did not seem optimistic, stating, “It’s very hard to overturn a jury verdict based on evidentiary rulings.”
All three judges on the panel were appointed by Democrats, so my hopes are not exactly high that Trump’s argument will even be considered, let alone granted.
Carroll had claimed that Trump raped her at a department store, which Trump has always adamantly denied.
The jury did not agree that Trump raped her, but Trump did not get off scot-free, either.
Additionally, Trump was rocked by the defamation verdict, ordering Trump to pay Carroll millions.
While this case will hurt Trump financially, in the overall scheme of things, this is far from the worst of it for Trump.
And while Trump also lost the Bragg case, most expect the verdict will either be overturned or the penalties lessened once the appeals process plays out.
From my perspective, the two biggest threats for Trump are the classified documents case and the election interference case, both brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith.
The good news on that front is that Trump’s attorneys have managed to have the cases pushed back enough that they will not be a threat for Trump before the election takes place.
