Trump Counters Cheney Claim of 2020 Election Loss

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-MT) has been hitting Donald Trump non-stop while she promotes her new book, “Oath and Honor,” basically painting herself as the savior of our democratic republic.

In that book, among other things, Cheney claims that Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) went to Mar-a-Lago on a wellness visit because Trump was depressed and not eating.

Trump says the complete opposite is true.

Trump was clearly upset over the election results of 2020, and I am not just talking about the claims of election fraud.

This was a crushing blow to Trump’s ego, losing to a man who was nearly 80 years old and literally hiding in his basement for most of the election cycle.

Cheney claimed that Trump had fallen into a deep depression, but Trump said he was just angry.

He tried to clear this up on Truth Social, posting, "Crazy Liz Cheney, who suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome at a level rarely seen before, writes in her boring new book that Keven McCarthy said he came to Mar-a-Lago after the RIGGED election because, 'the former president was depressed and not eating.'

“That statement is not true. I was not depressed, I WAS ANGRY, and it was not that I was not eating, it was that I was eating too much.

"But that’s not why Keven [sic] McCarthy was there. He was at Mar-a-Lago to get my support, and to bring the Republican Party together - Only good intentions.

“Liz Cheney, on the other hand, went on to lose her seat in Congress by the largest margin for a sitting Congressperson in the history of the U.S. She then worked with others on the J6 Committee to delete and destroy the evidence and findings of the committee.”

Cheney is now doing the media circuit, claiming that she is positive that if re-elected, Donald Trump would “never” leave the White House, as though anyone in our government, military, or even private citizens would allow him to turn this country into monarchy or dictatorship.

She is not alone, either, as multiple major news outlets, high-profile Democrats, and media pundits are now all pitching the same narrative.

This is the Russian collusion and threat to our democracy narratives they used in 2016 and 2020 on steroids for 2024.
