The big headline on Wednesday is that Trump is not attending the debate.
Trump, however, has ensured that any headlines from the debate that could given any opponent, and by that we mean Ron DeSantis, any momentum will be offset with a new story.
Trump has made it known that he will be turning himself in to Georgia authorities on Thursday, reported NBC News.
The Master
Trump announced on Truth Social, “Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis.”
DA Fani Willis gave Trump and his fellow indictees until Friday at noon to turn themselves in.
Others named in the suit started to show up earlier this week, and the mugshots, predictably, have been blasted all over the internet.
Trump’s team agreed to a $200,000 bond, so this will go by quickly for Trump, but that is not really what I want to discuss here.
This once again proves that Trump is the master of assuring that this name stays in the headlines and he continuously gets all the momentum.
Let’s for a second say that DeSantis has a great night and crushes the debate.
Regardless of his success, come Thursday, all the news shows will be showing Donald Trump getting booked, not the Ron DeSantis highlights from the debate.
Point being, the debate will have a shelf life of about 12 hours, at most.
Then it will be Trump getting booked, his mugshot, his outbursts on Truth Social, all of which will turn the tide back in Trump’s favor, just as we have seen with the previous indictments.
Trump could have turned himself in at any time, but he chose Thursday and he did it for a reason… to crush any hope DeSantis had of getting momentum from the debate.
Say what you want, but the man is brilliant when it comes to keeping his name at the top of the news cycle.
