Trump Celebrates Blocking of Border Wall Supplies
About a week ago, a report surfaced regarding the quiet sell-off of the remaining border supplies that had been purchased during the Trump administration by the Biden administration.
According to previous reports from Texas, most of the remaining supplies were junk, but that did not stop the filing of a suit to have the sales blocked.
Over the weekend, reports surfaced that the administration had to halt the sales of any remaining supplies.
Stop That Sale
As I stated in a previous report, Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick had stated that "the material for sale was mostly junk, with most panels covered in concrete and rust."
Patrick added, “This was a Biden ruse to gain favor with the radical left open border crowd, showing Biden was fighting [President-elect Donald] Trump to the bitter end."
Trump, however, wanted to grab a headline, so Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a suit against the administration to halt the selling of whatever was left.
After the sale of the materials was blocked, Texas Attorney Ken Paxton stated, “We have successfully blocked the Biden administration from disposing of any further border wall materials before President Trump takes office.”
Donald Trump responded to the ruling, stating, “The Judge has also ordered an investigation into the illegal selling of the materials, which will expose just how corrupt and anti-American Radical Democrats are.”
Again, roughly 60% of the remaining supplies were allocated to different departments already by the administration.
Of those that were not allocated, the remaining 40% were then designated for sale, but when Patrick checked out the supplies, he stated that what was left would have cost more to transport to Texas than the materials were worth.
So, regardless of this suit, Trump is going to have to repurchase the supplies needed to finish the border wall, which we would assume will be sent through Congress as soon as he takes office.
Sadly, it is the American people who will now be double-billed for supplies since Joe Biden decided to sell off or give away most of the supplies that remained after Trump left office.
It is a small price to pay, however, if it helps reduce illegal immigration into this country.
