Trump Campaign Brings In Political Operative For Florida Effort

Donald Trump has plans to beat Ron DeSantis, even in the governor's home state of Florida.

As a result, Donald isn't taking any chances, he's going with the best in the Sunshine State.

Brian Hughes, a longtime Florida political operative who recently worked for Jacksonville's Republican mayor, has been tabbed to lead Trump's political efforts in DeSantis' own backyard.

Perhaps not coincidentally, Hughes also has ties to the governor.

It makes sense that Trump would appreciate how close Hughes has been in the past to DeSantis, as you know that Trump is looking for any possibilities to gain more of an edge on Florida's governor.

Despite DeSantis appearing to be fading hard in terms of popularity, Trump doesn't want to take any chances.

In 2016 things went Trump's way, but in 2020 they did NOT.

I don't think that Trump is willing to risk that embarrassment again, especially before he gets to the general election.

Hughes is not the first Trump team member to have ties to DeSantis.

Susan Wiles is one of Trump's top advisors currently. She was hired by DeSantis in 2018 because of how she had previously led both Rick Scott and Trump to victory in Florida.

Back in November of last year, DeSantis was looking like he might catch up to Trump in terms of popularity.

Fast forward eight or ten months, and oh boy have things changed.

Since then, DeSantis' stock has been steadily declining, while Trump's seems to go up with each indictment liberals bring against him.
