Trump calls for policy of nonintervention in Syria as rebel troops advance
President-elect Donald Trump has made his stance known on Syria, and it's a bit of a surprise for some Americans.
Trump is calling for NONINTERVENTION in Syria, blaming the rapidly escalating situation on former President Barack Obama.
Syrian rebels have recently launched an anti-government offensive in Syria, but Donald Trump doesn't seem ready to pick a side just yet.
While Trump did suggest that the ousting of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad could be good for Russia and Syria, his preference at this point in time is still for neutrality.
"Opposition fighters in Syria, in an unprecedented move, have totally taken over numerous cities, in a highly coordinated offensive, and are now on the outskirts of Damascus, obviously preparing to make a very big move toward taking out Assad," Trump said on Truth Social.
While the decision to remain neutral as of now might surprise some people, it's part of Trump's new image he created during the 2024 cycle.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were in the middle of mismanaging multiple different wars across the world, so Trump used his campaign to point out just how much more peace was observed around the globe when he was in charge.
Trump pointed to the fact that there was no war between Ukraine and Russia until he left office, and Joe Biden's disastrous premature evacuation in Afghanistan caused multiple Americans to be killed.
Right now, Donald Trump doesn't want to pick a side in Syria.
That doesn't mean he won't in the future.
How do you feel about Donald Trump's handling of this situation?
Does he need to get involved, or do you agree with his wait-and-see approach right now?
