Trump border numbers down 94% from last February
It would appear that migrants hoping to enter this country illegally got the memo that Trump is now in charge.
The latest reports on border crossing show a 94% drop compared to last February, when Biden had actually started to crack down on border crossings due to the election coming up.
Over Trump’s first full month in office, there were fewer border crossings than Biden sometimes saw in a single day.
It’s Working
One year ago, the monthly total for crossing was more than 140,000. For Trump, that number was just over 8,300, roughly a 94% drop.
Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol, Michael W. Banks reported, “February proved our combined efforts in securing the border WORK. USBP apprehended 8,326 illegal aliens at the U.S.-Mexico border, making it the lowest month in recorded history.”
In addition to beefing up staff at the border, Trump has also enlisted the military to help, and it is clearly working.
In addition to the efforts being made at the border to make it more difficult to cross, Trump is rounding up the most nefarious of the illegals who have entered the country during Biden’s watch.
ICE and other agencies have launched large-scale operations to track these criminals down, apprehend them, then process them for deportation.
The Trump administration has even opened Guantanamo Bay as a holding facility for the worst of the worst, which clearly got the attention of migrant criminals.
Border Patrol has also found there is a now a growing trend of reverse deportations, with illegals deciding to leave on their own, or turning back around from their journey to our border to return to their homes, knowing that with Trump in charge, if they are caught, their journey will have been for naught.
With Trump’s efforts paying massive dividends, we have seen reports of migrant shelters being closed around the country, as there is no longer a need for them since Trump cut off the flow.
Per the February numbers, Trump is now averaging less than 300 illegal crossings a day, which is astonishing when you consider how many people were crossing daily when Biden was in office.
Other than Trump’s first administration, the last time we saw numbers this low was when Bill Clinton was in office. Despite the current position by the Clintons, Bill was one of the toughest presidents we have ever had regarding illegal immigration, with the initial funding for a border wall being passed during his administration.
