Trump believes Musk can find $1T with DOGE

One of the biggest successes of the Trump administration so far has been DOGE.

Elon Musk has exposed billions in wasteful spending and trillions in possible misplaced funds, and this is just the beginning.

While his initial goal was $2 trillion, he now estimates that he should be able to find at least $1 trillion, and Donald Trump agrees.

We all know our government wastes money, but in some cases, even if Musk finds waste, he may not be able to do much about it.

Any money approved by Congress cannot be taken back, but he can still expose the waste, and We the People can demand that Congress dial back the spending in the next budget.

So far, Musk and DOGE's total is over $50 billion, and that is just in one month, but Trump knows there are limits.

On this, he stated, “As good as they are, they’re not going to find some contract that was crooked, you know, crooked as hell. And I mean, this going to be so much that isn’t found. But, what is that I think he’s going to find $1 trillion."

It has now reached the point that Trump is considering giving taxpayers a rebate of 20% of Musk's finds, which, if it is $1 trillion, would be about $2,500 per taxpayer.

Most, if not all, of that money needs to be used to pay down our debt, or our country will be in very bad shape in the near future, which is what Musk addressed.

He stated, “If the deficit is not brought under control, America will go bankrupt. This is a very important thing for people to understand.

"A country is no different from an individual in that if an individual overspends, an individual can go bankrupt. And so can a country, and the massive waste, fraud, and abuse that has been going on, which is leading to, a $2 trillion a year deficit, that’s, that’s what the president was handed on Jan. 20, a $2 trillion deficit. It’s insane."

He's right... every year, we have a budget deficit, as the government is spending more than what is being brought in, so we are putting in budget line items with no plan to pay for them, and you can only do that for so long.

Just remember, though... exposing fraud and recovering it are two different things. Trump will be able to make some cuts recommended by DOGE, but other cuts will be a legal battle and something that Congress will have to rectify.

Regardless, in my eyes, it is far more important that the waste gets exposed so the American people can hold elected officials responsible and we can fix this moving forward.
