Trump Begs Supreme Court to Intervene in Hush-money Case

Donald Trump hopes that the Supreme Court will intervene and save him from Judge Merchan's future sentencing, but he has a curious way of doing so.

To my knowledge, his legal team has not filed an emergency appeal in the hush-money ruling.

The only “motion” made was for Trump to ask the Supreme Court for help on Truth Social.

In Reality…

Trump went off on Truth Social over the ruling.

He wrote, "The 'Sentencing' for not having done anything wrong will be, conveniently for the Fascists, 4 days before the Republican National Convention.

"A Radical Left Soros backed D.A., who ran on a platform of 'I will get Trump,' reporting to an 'Acting' Local Judge, appointed by the Democrats, who is HIGHLY CONFLICTED, will make a decision which will determine the future of our Nation? The United States Supreme Court MUST DECIDE!"

The court currently only has the presidential immunity case to decide, and most believe it will be sent back to the lower courts.

From my perspective, asking the Supreme Court to jump to the front of the line for the hush-money case is not a smart move.

I know there are plenty of pundits saying this needs to happen, but I am pretty sure the court would reject the case because Trump has not yet exhausted all possible appeals.

I am also considering the big picture here.

If the court jumps the line and reverses this jury verdict, with six conservative justices, three of them appointed by Trump, can you imagine the outrage on the left and the calls to pack the court again?

If I were Trump, I would appeal this at the lower levels, where he has a very strong case, and roll the dice there before asking for relief from the Supreme Court.

If we want the rhetoric to start to die down, this is the most logical path to take, which, of course, means it will be ignored and Trump’s legal team will likely file an emergency appeal with SCOTUS.
