Trump bans officials who pushed Russia hoax from entering federal buildings

President Donald Trump just issued a ban on 50 former intelligence officials.

These officials all participated in “falsely” suggesting that the laptop of President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, was “part of a Russian disinformation campaign.”

The Daily Wire obtained a Jan. 29 memorandum that discussed Trump’s day-one executive order.

In that memorandum, 50 officials had their security clearance revoked.

According to the Daily Wire, it was sent “on behalf of the President” and directly ordered the agency to “revoke unescorted access to secure U.S. Government facilities from the 50 former intelligence officials named in the Executive Order.”

“These individuals no longer possess a need to access secure facilities, and as outlined in the Executive Order, do not have the appropriate security clearances to access classified information,” the memo continued.

According to the Daily Wire, the names affected by the measure include former CIA directors John Brennan and Michael Hayden, former secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta, former director of National Intelligence James Clapper and John Bolton.

The last one surprised some, as Bolton previously served as Trump’s own national security advisor.

Reports say Trump’s decision to revoke their security clearance comes from the administration’s attempt to remove any government officials that “participated in political weaponization of their power,” according to the Daily Wire.

The actual order said that “the signatories willfully weaponized the gravitas of the Intelligence Community to manipulate the political process and undermine our democratic institutions.”

Now, Trump’s pick for head of the FBI, Kash Patel, has provided a statement following his confirmation hearing.

Patel first promised to “de-weaponize” the FBI and then went on to make a statement that has now made the news.

“America deserves a better brand of justice and I’m going to give it to them,” Patel said in the confirmation hearing.

Do you think Trump did the right thing by removing these 50 officials?
