Trump-backed Tim Sheehy About to Remove Tester from Senate Seat
I have to be honest… I never thought Republicans would be able to defeat Senator Jon Tester (D-MT), but he is now very close to being kicked to the curb in Montana.
Tester, at one point, had a fairly significant lead in this race, but Trump-backed Tim Sheehy, a former Navy SEAL, has been chipping away and now leads this race.
In preliminary polling, Tester was about four points ahead of Sheehy. But after both candidates won their respective primary races, Tester was sitting on a double-digit lead.
The Tide Has Changed
The tide changed rather quickly, with Sheehy quickly making up ground. While Tester was still leading in most polls heading into the summer, Sheehy had that lead down to less than five points.
Now we fast forward through the summer, and it is Sheehy with the big lead, holding seven points on Tester in the latest AARP poll and a seven-point lead in a poll taken by the Montana GOP.
The seat is now considered to be leaning red, which would be a massive win for Trump and the Republican Party.
This would make up for the seat in Arizona that we are about to lose with Kari Lake, who is down by four points in the latest polling for that seat.
While I am still hopeful the GOP can flip the Senate, I think all three races are going to come down to the wire.
The Senate will be tight, but I am a bit more confident in the GOP taking control back than I am of the GOP holding the House.
Then, of course, there is the White House, which I believe is now coming down to MI, PA, and WI.
If Harris wins those three states, I think she will take the election. If Trump can win two out of three, I think he has the race sealed up.
