Trump-backed John Lee wins GOP primary race for Nevada House seat

It's a victory for Donald Trump, and it's a victory for former North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee.

Lee, who received an endorsement from Donald Trump, has won the Republican primary for Nevada's 4th Congressional District.

Lee will now face incumbent Democratic Representative Steven Horsford in the November general election.

Air Force veteran David Flippo was the closest contender to Lee in the race when the Associated Press called the contest.

Lee didn't have Trump's endorsement for very long. In fact, Trump only spoke up about supporting Lee less than two weeks before the primary.

Despite Lee only having a short time to work with the endorsement, the strategy appears to have worked. Now, Lee has the chance to flip what could be one of the more competitive House seats for Republicans this year.

When you're talking about seats currently held by liberals that could be flipped to Republican, this is one of the most important races to keep an eye on.

John Lee has had success in Nevada politics in the past, and especially with the help of Donald Trump now, Lee might be able to do it again.

Nevada is going to be a VERY important state once November rolls around because America's House of Representatives is EXTREMELY tight right now.

Republicans do hold the lead, but their slim 218-213 margin means that practically anything could happen this November.

The lead used to be a little bit bigger for Republicans, but a few resignations and at least one expulsion have put Republicans in a less desirable spot than they were in 2022.

Republicans NEED to do well in Congress this November because even if Donald Trump wins the presidency, he's going to need people who are willing to work with him.

Now that Trump has endorsed Lee in Nevada, that partnership could be paying dividends for years to come.
