Trump Appeal Pushes Fani Willis Case Back Even Further

Donald Trump is having a very good week.

The Jack Smith January 6 case is already on hold and unlikely to make it to court before the election.

He just got news that Judge Cannon has scheduled a new hearing to test the theory that Smith’s appointment as Special Counsel was illegal, backing that case up again.

And now, his appeal to hear arguments regarding removing Fani Willis from the Georgia election RICO case has been scheduled for October 4, all but ensuring that the case never comes to trial.

Sorry, Fani

This case was going to be a career-making case for Fani Willis, but her own actions have now turned into a career-ending case.

Willis hired her then-lover, Nathan Wade, at $350 per hour to help prosecute Donald Trump.

That made Wade among the highest-paid attorneys on the case and more than double the race a RICO expert was being paid that Willis brought in specifically for the Trump case.

When it was found out that Wade and Willis were having an affair, there were questions if Willis was using this case for personal financial gain via the salary being paid to Wade as well as a way to simply help Wade.

Judge McAfee initially ruled that Willis could stay on the case, but he did have reservations.

His final ruling was that Willis could stay, but in order for that to happen, Wade would have to resign, which he did.

However, McAfee approved an appeal by Trump and his co-defendants of his decision, and they jumped on it.

In his decision, McAfee left us all wondering, stating, "[T]he Court finds that the record made at the evidentiary hearing established that the District Attorney’s prosecution is encumbered by an appearance of impropriety.

"As the case moves forward, reasonable members of the public could easily be left to wonder whether the financial exchanges have continued resulting in some form of benefit to the District Attorney, or even whether the romantic relationship has resumed."

After the appeal hearing was scheduled for October 4, Trump attorney Steve Sadow stated, "The Georgia Court of Appeals has properly stayed all proceedings against President Trump in the trial court pending its decision on our interlocutory appeal which argues the case should be dismissed and Fulton County DA Willis should be disqualified for her misconduct.”

This court date means the trial cannot be held before the election, and that is all they were really worried about.

Unless I am missing something, the Bragg hush-money case is the only case that will have made it to the courtroom, and that guilty verdict may have actually helped Trump.

Not only that, but most legal experts expect the verdict to be overturned on appeal, which will be a complete and utter nightmare for Democrats.

Trump may just be the luckiest man alive right now.
