Trump administration promises increased scrutiny on Office of Personnel Management

Donald Trump promised that he would undo many decisions made by Joe Biden's administration, and he's not wasting any time in the Oval Office before keeping his word.

Trump's latest move is to require the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to once "again report on how much time and money federal employees spend on union activity after a hiatus during the Biden administration following a request from Republican Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa," the Daily Caller writes.

Ernst teamed up with Republican Rep. Michael Cloud of Texas to urge the Office of Personnel Management to resume reporting taxpayer-funded union time (TFUT), or "official time," when Ernst introduced the "Protecting Taxpayers’ Wallets Act of 2025" on Feb. 11.

The Trump administration agreed to the request, a decision that was met with praise by Ernst in a "Feb. 27 memo provided to the Daily Caller News Foundation, in which OPM Acting Director Charles Eskell directed agencies to resume tracking TFUT."

"I am thrilled to see the Trump administration restart the reporting of taxpayer-funded union time, so the American people know just how much money bureaucrats are paid not to work," Ernst said.

"Federal employees should be serving taxpayers, not themselves, during the workday. If they want to engage in union activity, they need to refund taxpayers for every last penny."

The move represents a huge shift in America's federal government that moves benefits away from federal employees and gives taxpayers a fair shot.

For too long, America has been supporting a bloated federal government because liberals won't stop hiring for underworked and overpaid positions. Democrats love big government, and Joe Biden made that abundantly clear during his time in the White House. The fact that his administration did away with the tracking of union time makes you wonder what else government employees were getting away with on Biden's watch.

Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about that now.

Our best course of action is to move forward and try to correct the mistakes of the Biden administration.

Luckily, we have the perfect man in the White House to do just that.
