Trump Administration Cancels All CBP App Appointments
One of the biggest farces of the Biden administration in terms of immigration was the Customs and Border Protection app that was developed.
This app enabled migrants from certain countries to bypass the normal asylum process to more or less get guaranteed approval.
One of the first things the Trump administration has done is disabling the app and canceling all current appointments.

What many people do not realize is that one of the reasons Biden’s immigration numbers started to decline was the development of the CBP app.
This app targeted migrants from specific countries, with Biden telling them that as long as they did not enter the country illegally, they could make their appointment on the app, and they were all but guaranteed to be granted asylum.
This has driven up asylum approval ratings to nearly 50% in recent years under Joe Biden, whereas in 2019, only 12% of asylum applications were approved. Generally speaking, the number is in or around 20%, so you can see how this was a problem for conservatives and the Trump administration.
Trump has canceled the existing appointments, literally reducing applicants to tears, and he and Kristi Noem have vowed to disable the app immediately.
Trump has also signed legislation to block birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants.
Now, that is clearly going to be challenged in court, and I really don’t think that order will hold up, even if it goes before the Supreme Court.
I need to run the wording of that in the Constitution by my legal friends, but I don’t anticipate Trump winning that argument.
I completely support Trump ending this app, as it was utterly ridiculous what Biden was doing, as noted above in terms of percentage of asylum applications that were approved.
While I am sure it would be challenged in court, what I would like to see is Noem review all asylum applications under the Biden administration and revoke approval for those who would not have normally been given asylum due to that app.
