Top Pentagon Aide Names in ‘Covert Campaign’ Undermining Iran Opposition

This has not been a good week for Joe Biden and members of this administration when it comes to loyalty to this country and our allies.

A massive report recently broke regarding a top Pentagon aide who was working to protect the interests of Iran over the United States.

The staffer, Ariane Tabatabai, is the chief of staff to the Pentagon’s assistant secretary of defense for special operations and low-intensity conflict.

Who Are You Working For?

Tabatabai, who is an Iranian native, was involved with a group that working to undermine opposition to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The group, called the Iran Experts Initiative, was involved in a “covert campaign” to smear Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK), the opposition group to Khamenei.

The report was first published in Semafor in September, and states, “By seeking to neutralize favorable impressions of the organization among Washington’s foreign policy elite, Tehran sought to take down an entity capable of aiding Western attempts to curtail the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons program, malign regional agenda, human rights abuses, and fundamentalist inclinations.

“By brazenly targeting the highly effective dissident organization, the operatives hoped to leave US officials with the false impression that there is no viable alternative to the ayatollahs — and certainly not one with a pro-democracy record that remains committed to toppling clerical rule.”

The report was put in Biden’s hands on Monday and the author of the report, Ivan Sascha Sheehan, an associate dean of the University of Baltimore’s College of Public Affairs, was set to brief Congress on Tuesday.

The report is backed by former member of the European Parliament, Alejo Vidal-Quadras Roca, whom there was an assassination attempt against last week, with some believing that the attempt may have been backed by Iran.

If you have not figured it out just yet, Tabatabai was first brought into this administration by former Iranian special envoy Robert Malley, who is now under investigation for the mishandling of classified information.

Republicans have demanded that Tabatabai’s security clearance be revoked, but that has not yet happened.

Mind you, this comes amid a recent report of 100 State Department officials accusing Joe Biden of having spread “misinformation” regarding the Israel-Hamas war and demanding a cease-fire.

Is this administration making any moves to remove these apparent traitors from our government? Absolutely not, quite the opposite, actually.

The State Department issued a statement saying that it welcomes opposing opinions and this is the benefit this administration has for being so diverse.
