Top Biden Labor Adviser Leaving Administration

Yet another top staffer in the Biden administration has decided to hit the road.

This time, it is Celeste Drake, who was serving as a top labor adviser for Joe Biden.

She is leaving to take a position as the deputy director-general of the International Labor Organization. She will begin her new position on August 14, according to the Daily Caller report.

Problems on the Labor Front

This is a big hit for Biden, as he is struggling to get a nominee past the Senate.

After Marty Walsh resigned in February, the Senate has been dragging its feet on the confirmation of Julie Su. Su was nominated immediately after Walsh’s resignation, but she has struggled to gain the support of the Senate, reported The Hill.

The holdup for Su is related to a rather contentious exchange she had with Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), who has been more in Joe Biden’s corner than not.

When Drake was initially appointed, it was to serve in a position created by this administration.

She was the initial director of Made in America at the Office of Management and Budget.

The White House sang her praises in announcing her departure, stating, “Celeste Drake is the embodiment of President Biden’s commitment to putting working Americans at the center of his economic policy. Her policy expertise, relationships of trust, and wise counsel have made Celeste an essential part of the White House team.”

Drake is just one in a long line of high-profile officials that have left the administration amid sinking poll numbers for Joe Biden.

Other staffers that have left are White House communications director Kate Bedingfield, White House chief of staff Ron Slain, principal communications director Kate Berner, press assistant Megha Bhattacharya, her assistant and Chief of Staff Robbie Dornbush, and assistant press secretary Abdullah Hasan.

It sounds to me like nobody wants to be associated with this sinking ship.

I am not sure if Biden has quite hit the early turnover rate of Donald Trump, but he has to be pretty close at this point. And when Trump had that turnover, it made national headlines, but, as usual, the mainstream media is laying off the story.
