Tony Bennett Dies At 96

An absolute entertainment LEGEND has passed away.

Tony Bennett was 96.

He was a 20-time Grammy winning musician.

The crooner's publicist, Sylvia Weiner, confirmed the star's death to the Associated Press.

Bennett passed away in his hometown of New York.

Many celebrities quickly offered their condolences to the family of one of the greatest entertainers in American history.

The usually despicable Hillary Clinton called Bennett "a true talent, a true gentleman, and a true friend. We’ll miss you, Tony, and thanks for all the memories.⁣"

Paul Williams, the chairman of the board and president of ASCAP, also recalled Bennett fondly:

Tony was a spectacular singer with a charismatic tone, equal parts grace and grit, and he knew how to inhabit a song. There was perhaps no greater champion of great songwriting. He spent seven decades introducing the world to the Great American Songbook, reinterpreting it for new generations and giving 100% with every unforgettable performance. Tony, we’ll never forget your voice and your timeless recordings. You left our hearts in perfect rapture.
