TN Woman Traveling with Boyfriend Disappears in Case Similar to Gabby Petito

A Tennessee woman has gone missing after a road trip with her boyfriend that shares similarities to the 2021 disappearance of Gabby Petito.

Nikki Alcaraz, 33, left Nashville with her boyfriend in early May and has since turned silent.

"Nikki last communicated with [her sister] Toni over text on May 8, telling her she was in Arizona and planned to complete the trip," according to the New York Post.

“Then I didn’t hear anything else after that Monday morning,” Toni said. “I talk to her almost every day, so I am scared something happened to them.”

"During their cross-country trip, the couple had a run-in with law enforcement in Torrance County, New Mexico. According to a Torrance County Sheriff’s Office report from May 4, a witness saw Stratton punch Nikki in the face. The report went on to say that Stratton claimed he was also hit, with blood coming from his mouth and nose," WKRN reported.

"Since neither one wanted to press charges, authorities said Stratton and Nikki were given rides. After Nikki was dropped off in Moriarty, Toni said Nikki called her," it noted.

Nikki was last seen in a 2013 black Jeep Wrangler. Police are asking anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact them.

The concern is heightened in the case as it shares similarities with the situation involving Gabby Petito who disappeared on a road trip with her boyfriend in 2021.

Petito was later found dead with her boyfriend arrested as the main suspect in the case.

Police hope for a better answer in the current case as authorities seek details in the search for Nikki.
