We all knew it was only a matter of time before the “impeach Joe Biden” talk started in Congress.
Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) broke the seal, telling Breitbart that the time has come for the House to finally impeach Biden.
It is not that I don’t agree with Banks, because I do, but is this not a futile exercise knowing that we do not have the support in the Senate for this to actually happen?
Let’s Do It
Part of this call by Banks is because he is looking to move up to the Senate in the upcoming election.
What better way to grab a headline than to call for the impeachment of the president of the United States?
Banks stated, “We already knew that [the] Bidens are the most corrupt family ever to live in the White House, and that’s saying a lot after the Clintons lived there.
“But what we saw more of this week is more proof and more evidence. It’s time to impeach him.
“The evidence was already there, but this is further evidence that this is the type of high crimes and misdemeanors that should prevent this man from serving any day longer in the White House than what he already has. On top of that — man, I mean, this evidence this week proves that they impeached Donald Trump because he was right,” reported The Gazette.
Again, let me say this to be clear, I 100 percent believe that Joe Biden should be impeached. I also believe he should be facing a host of charges right now, but neither will happen at this time.
First and foremost, the Dems have the Senate, which means we have no shot of getting anywhere near the votes needed to get a guilty verdict in the Senate to have Biden impeached.
And I know the counterargument… well, they did it to Trump. Yes, they did, and we all bitched about how much of a waste of taxpayer money it was to go through the Senate impeachment knowing the Democrats did not have enough votes, so my recommending them to move forward would only make me a hypocrite.
Second, in terms of charges, there is no way Merrick Garland will ever indict Joe Biden, so that will have to wait until a Republican is in the White House and we have a new Attorney General.
There is one more thing to consider here…
As Banks noted, far too many Republicans are saying, let’s just move on. I will guarantee you any Republican saying that has skeletons in his or her closet.
They are terrified of Biden being charged because they know if he goes down, he will take the entire house with him, and they do not want to end up in the same boat.
I would wager that at least half of Congress is involved in one scheme or another, be it illegal investing, kickbacks, schemes to get donations or cushy jobs, whatever… but far too many of them are using their seats to get rich.
Anyone who objects, believe me, they are more than likely guilty.
