Time magazine admits it was wrong about Harris policy

Time magazine was forced to admit that it was wrong about Vice President Kamala Harris's position on an issue related to illegal immigration.

The magazine, according to Fox News, issued the correction on Wednesday.

Time made the error in its coverage of the recently held presidential debate between Harris and former President Donald Trump.

As we all saw, left-wing media outlets were extremely quick to "fact-check" Trump, even when Trump said things that are factually true. Time was among the left-wing outlets that did so.

The "fact-check"

What the magazine took issue with is a statement that Trump made, during the debate, about Harris's position on transgender operations for illegal aliens that are being held in American jails.

The former president said:

She went out in Minnesota and wanted to let criminals that killed people, that burned down Minneapolis, she went out and raised money to get them out of jail. She did things that nobody would ever think of. Now she wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison. This is a radical left liberal that would do this.

Time, in its fact-check, claimed that Trump was wrong about this.

The magazine wrote, "The former President … falsely claimed that Harris 'wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison.'"

The only problem is that what Trump said is verifiably true.

Time's retraction

Fox, among many other outlets, has demonstrated that Trump's statement about Harris is true.

"Harris pledged she would support taxpayer-funded gender care for detained migrants in an ACLU candidate questionnaire during her first presidential campaign," the outlet reports.

Time, in its "correction," wrote:

The original version of this story mischaracterized as false Donald Trump’s statement accusing Kamala Harris of supporting “transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison” As a presidential candidate in 2019, Harris filled out a questionnaire saying she supported taxpayer-funded gender transition treatment for detained immigrants.

Fox goes on to detail how many left-wing commentators thought that what Trump said was so crazy that it had to be false. It sure would be interesting to know how they feel about Harris now that it has been confirmed that Trump was telling the truth.

At the time of this writing, neither Harris nor her campaign has released a statement saying that she does not support using taxpayer money to provide transgender operations for detained illegal immigrants. In other words, one would have to conclude that she still supports this idea.
