Thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators gather outside White House
Protests of all descriptions are part and parcel of life in the nation's capital, but a particularly heated assembly took place in Washington, D.C., involving tens of thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators shouting violent slogans and engaging in vandalism.
As the New York Post reports, the heavily anti-Israel crowd began arriving outside the White House around noon, drawing a metaphorical -- and literal -- “red line” around President Joe Biden and his policies and pushing U.S. Park Police and Secret Service agents out of the immediate vicinity.
Volatility, destruction descend on D.C.
According to the Post, members of a group known as the Answer Coalition made their position known by unfurling a massive red banner in the vicinity of the protest, something they said was meant to symbolize the red line Israel has allegedly been allowed to cross by entering the town of Rafah.
Once the banner's ends connected near the White House complex's southwest corner, the crowd of protestors erupted in cheers.
Other demonstrators were seen lighting smoke bomb that they subsequently hurled onto the lawn of the White House.
According to images posted to social media, a statute of Andrew Jackson situated near the White House was spray-pained with anti-Israel slogans, making the destructive nature of the protests clear for all to see.
The threatening tone of some of those in attendance was evidenced by a sign that read, according to X account @ScooterCasterNY, “You better run, we got the guillotine.”
Vandalism and intimidation unleashed
In an especially disturbing scenario captured by Blaze Media's Julio Rosas, representatives of the U.S. Park Police and the Secret Service were effectively forced out of Lafayette Park when attempting to take a protestor into custody.
Shouts of “f**k the police" could be heard as the officers were compelled to retreat.
When demonstrators decided to vandalize sculptures and statues near the White House complex, Park Police who tried to intervene were pelted with rocks and other items.
Double standards at play
The disparity in law enforcement treatment of the pro-Palestinian mob when compared to demonstrators supportive of conservative causes was not lost on investigative journalist Julie Kelly, who took to X to underscore her outrage.
“This sort of conduct toward federal officers has resulted in armed raids, pretrial detention, and years in prison for J6ers,” she wrote. “But not a single pro Hamas cop attacker will face a federal charge,” Kelly added, pointing out the sad, but undeniable, truth about Biden's America.
