'The View' Co-Host Whoop Goldberg Claims SCOTUS Immunity for Trump Would Lead to Dictatorship
Whoopi Goldberg, a co-host of "The View," expressed concern this week over the Supreme Court's decision to hear oral arguments regarding former President Donald Trump's immunity, suggesting it could lead to a dictatorship and even speculating that President Joe Biden might "throw every Republican in jail."
"The Supreme Court won't hear oral arguments until the end of April. Let's look at a scenario where the Supreme Court says, 'Yes, he has all those rights. He is immune from everything.' You know what Joe Biden could do since he is presently president? He could throw every Republican in jail," she stated.

Goldberg quickly urged them to calm down, cautioning that such a scenario would not be "a good thing."
She further elaborated, stating, "What this means is he could do anything. He could dismiss everybody's debt. There's a whole bunch of great stuff that could happen, but let's really look at what this means."
Co-host Sunny Hostin offered a simpler explanation, suggesting that the Supreme Court would shield the former president long enough for him to regain power come November 2024.
"It's his get-out-of-jail-free card," Hostin remarked.
As reported by Breitbart News, the Supreme Court has granted former President Donald Trump's request to determine if he is immune from prosecution for actions taken during his time in office.
The court will examine the extent to which a former president enjoys immunity from criminal prosecution for conduct alleged to involve official acts during his tenure.
Oral arguments are scheduled to begin the week of April 22, according to a court order issued on Wednesday. The order also directs the appellate court to maintain a pause on Special Counsel Jack Smith's case against Trump until the Supreme Court reaches a decision on the immunity issue.
Beyond Whoopi Goldberg, other celebrities have expressed apprehension over the impending Supreme Court case and voiced their discontent on social media.
Rob Reiner emphasized the importance of voters in addressing what he called a "cancerous threat to Democracy," along with a host of fellow critics as Trump fights his ongoing legal battles.
