Texas National Guard Deploys Riot Shields at Eagle Pass

Over the last few weeks, tensions have been climbing between Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the White House.

Abbott has more or less kicked Border Patrol off the southern border on Texas soil, now deploying his own team to defend the border against illegal immigrants.

To that point, it was reported over the weekend that the Texas National Guard started to deploy riot equipment to try to push migrants back.

Do What Has to be Done

What little respite there was in immigration numbers changed dramatically again in December.

It has been reported that more than 300,000 migrant encounters took place in December, setting yet another record for Joe Biden.

In one 24-hour period, there were reportedly more than 14,000 migrant encounters, an astronomical number.

Video recently popped up of migrants trying to climb over and through the barbed wire barriers at Eagle Pass, with Texas National Guard members using riot shields to push them back over to the Mexican side of the border.

Last week, Abbott also made headlines after he issued an emergency order to seize control of the public park along the Rio Grande.

When Abbott took control of Eagle Pass, he stated, "We are not allowing Border Patrol on that property anymore.

"We said, 'We've had it. We're not going to let this happen anymore."'

Later that evening, the Biden administration blamed Abbott for the deaths of a woman and two children who drowned trying to cross the border, saying that Texas officials had “barred” Border Patrol from being able to rescue them.

Democrats have tried to push the narrative that Border Patrol would have saved them, which the TMD stated is “wholly inaccurate.”

The Texas Military Department stated, "At the time that Border Patrol requested access, the drownings had occurred, Mexican authorities were recovering the bodies, and Border Patrol expressed these facts to the TMD personnel on site.”

Then Abbott added, "The fact is the deaths are [because] of Biden's Open Border magnet.”
