Texas Jury to Decide on Case Between Trump Caravan and Biden Campaign Bus

During the 2020 campaign season, there was an incident that took place in Texas between a Trump caravan and a Biden-Harris campaign bus.

The campaign bus was surrounded and boxed in by the Trump caravan packed with Donald Trump supporters.

The incident took place in late October on I-35 between Austin and San Antonio, resulting in the cancellation of several campaign events.

Political Violence

Members of the Trump convoy boxed the campaign bus in and dropped their speed to about 15 to 25 mph on the highway, which had a 70 mph speed limit.

Biden campaign attorneys stated the move was politically motivated and meant to intimidate the Biden campaign.

A lawsuit that was filed over the incident resulted in an apology and settlement for the Biden campaign workers by two of the convoy members. However, the remaining convoy members are still involved in the suit.

That trial started on September 9 and is expected to wrap up in about two weeks.

Former Democratic lawmaker Wendy Davis was on the bus and stated, “I feel like they were enjoying making us afraid. It's traumatic for all of us to revisit that day.”

Plaintiff attorney Samuel Hall, an attorney with the law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher, said the lives of the those on the bus were put in “danger,” citing the Ku Klux Klan Act that bands political violence and intimidation.

Defense attorneys argued, “This was a political rally. This was not some conspiracy to intimidate people.”

It does not look good for the remaining members of the convoy, and I just don’t understand why people would do something like this.

It may seem like a good idea or funny at the time, but this all comes back to Trump, whether he was involved in it or not, with Democrats pushing the narrative that this is the type of thing that Trump encourages.

This is stupidity at the highest level, and the timing of this case could not be worse for Donald Trump and his campaign.
