Texas Democrat Changes Teams

The Democrats movement in Texas just took another significant blow.

A county official has decided to switch parties and join the GOP, reported the Washington Examiner.

The official cited Biden's border issues as the reason for the change.

Time to Switch It Up

Kleberg County Attorney Kira Talip Sanchez dropped the news Saturday night on Democrats and the media.

Sanchez addressed the Hispanic Republicans of Texas PAC, telling the group there were "unprecedented" border crisis issues as well as some law enforcement issues that led to the change of party.

Now this is a traditionally blue district, but it has had a splash of red from time to time. I think the bigger story here is that Democrats are losing an Hispanic official over border issues to the GOP… it does not get any worse than that for Democrats.

Sanchez stated, "As County Attorney, I have been proud to work with law enforcement to ensure the safety of the citizens of Kleberg County.

"There is an unprecedented crisis at our southern border. I believe that the GOP's policies of law and order protecting safety, and backing the blue best align with my values and the values of the citizens of Kleberg County.

"I look forward to working with my colleagues to keep South Texas safe," reported Fox News.

As a county that borders on the Gulf of Mexico, Sanchez is well aware of the border issues, so this is a major blow for Democrats, and Joe Biden in particular.

While Joe Biden got a small respite in June, with "only" 144,566 border crossings, that number went up significantly to 183,503 in July.

Clearly, Biden's border policies are not working, and I can only imagine what these numbers would be were it not for the efforts being made by Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

Welcome to the party, Ms. Sanchez, and be sure to tell all your friends exactly why you traded in a "D" for an "R" next to your name.
