Terror Alert Raised After 2 Shot Dead in Brussels by Man Claiming to be ISIS Member

After Israel was attacked by Hamas, we have all been waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Be it sympathizers carrying out attacks or a massive strike in a different part of the world.

On Monday, two Swedish natives were shot and killed in Brussels, raising the terror alert level after a video was posted by a man who claimed to be the killer.

Terror Alert Raised

After the attack, a video was posted on social media by the alleged assailant who claimed to be a member of the Islamic State.

According to local officials, the attack took place just after 7:00 p.m. local time. The attack was aimed at three people, two Swedes, and a cab driver, but the driver was “out of danger” according to local authorities.

The Belgium National Crisis Center stated, "The takeover by the federal prosecutor's office occurred because of the possible terrorist motive of the shooting.”

Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo confirmed the video, identifying the man as Abdesalem Al Guilani and a "fighter for Allah."

In the video, the alleged assailant stated, "Islamic greeting Allahu Akbar. My name is Abdesalem Al Guilani and I am a fighter for Allah.

"I am from the Islamic State. We love who loves us and we hate who hates us. We live for our religion and we die for our religion. Alhamdulah. Your brother took revenge in the name of Muslims.

“I have killed 3 Swedes so far Al Hamdoulelah. 3 Swedish, yes. Those to whom I have done something wrong, may they forgive me. And I forgive everyone. Salam Aleykoum."

Very near the shooting, a soccer match between Belgium and Sweden was taking place, and the match was called about halfway through as a preventive measure.

Brussels raised its terror alert status to Level 4, the highest level it has.
