Ted Cruz: Michelle Obama Will Replace Joe Biden
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is getting everyone whipped up over Michelle Obama again.
After the disastrous debate performance by Joe Biden, Cruz decided to revisit a tired and debunked narrative.
That being that Michelle Obama will swoop in at the last second to take Biden’s position on the Democrat ticket.
Not Happening
This particular replacement theory has been running wild ever since Biden announced that he was going to run.
Pundits have been predicting that Hillary Clinton, Gavin Newsom, or Michelle Obama would replace Biden, but it’s not going to happen unless Joe Biden decides to step down.
Cruz is still pushing this to get likes and clicks on social media, stating, “The odds have now skyrocketed.
“The odds are north of 80% that the Democratic Party will remove Joe Biden from the ticket and replace him … with Michelle Obama because Biden did so disastrously badly tonight that Democrats across the country are in utter freefall and complete panic.”
Here’s the reality of the situation.
The ONLY way that Democrats can forcibly remove Biden from the ticket is for Kamala Harris and Biden’s cabinet to activate the 25th Amendment, which would then elevate Kamala Harris to president, allowing her to run as the incumbent, which the Democrat Party does not want.
Dems can pressure Joe Biden all they want, but otherwise, it has to be his decision to step down.
If Biden does that, then the electors get to pick the replacement at the convention, but even then, it would not be Michelle Obama.
No matter how badly Democrats want Michelle Obama to run, she has made it quite clear she wants nothing to do with the White House and politics.
Democrats put themselves in this position, but it does not matter what the betting odds are or what the pundits are saying. There are two options for replacing Joe Biden, and right now, neither of them seems likely.
I am not saying that Biden could not be talked into stepping aside before the convention, but I just don’t see it happening.
