Taylor Momsen Bitten by Bat While Performing with The Pretty Reckless

Actress turned rock star Taylor Momsen had a very scary moment on stage this past weekend in Spain.

Momsen, the star of “Gossip Girl,” is now the lead singer for The Pretty Reckless.

During a concert this weekend, she was bitten by a bat, then rushed off for rabies shots.

Ouch!

As Momsen was performing, the crowd started to point and yell, but she had no idea what they were trying to warn her about.

She stated, “You guys are pointing at something and I don’t know what you’re saying.”

Momsen then realized they were trying to warn her of a bat that had been flying across the stage, but it was too late.

The bat attached itself to her leg and started to bite down, which led to Momsen crying out, “There’s a flying f–king bat on my leg right now. Can someone help me, please?”

Several people came on stage to help her, and the bat was eventually detached from her leg. Momsen then stated, “I must really be a witch. It’s alright and the bat’s fine. He’s gonna be my new friend.”

As noted above, Momsen was taken to a local hospital for treatment, which is a series of rabies shots, nothing something that is exactly fun to go through, but she took everything in great spirits.

While Momsen was light-spirited about the incident, rabies is no laughing matter and should be treated as soon as possible after a suspected bite, or it can be and usually is fatal.

Momsen popped on the scene in 1997, landing a small role on “Cosby,” then gradually climbed the Hollywood ladder with a rather impressive resume that includes one of my favorite Mel Gibson war movies, “We Were Soldiers.”

She landed the role of Jenny Humphrey on “Gossip Girl” in 2007, while also becoming a founding member of The Reckless, later renamed The Pretty Reckless due to trademark issues.

While the band started off slow, its second album release in 2014 flew up the charts.

With the band notching several more number-one hits, The Pretty Reckless became the first female-fronted band to score seven #1 singles.

More recently, the band served as the opening act for AC/DC on its Power Up Tour, so the ceiling now seems pretty high for Momsen and The Pretty Reckless, that is as long as she can avoid bats in the future.
