Swifties Go Nuts Over Taylor’s New Ring

There was a lot of speculation that Kansas City Chief’s tight end Travis Kelce may be popping the question to Taylor Swift on her birthday.

Kelce had teased fans that he had something very special planned for her celebration, even though he could not make it because he was in KC for football practice.

When Taylor showed up that night with a monster rock on her finger, fans went nuts, assuming that it was Kelce who bought the ring for her, although it does not appear to be an engagement ring.

To be clear, it has not yet been confirmed that Kelce was even the one who gifted the ring to Swift, but the internet sleuths all think they have it figured out.

The ring, which was seen in various pictures during Swift’s birthday celebration, has a pear-shaped opal surrounded by what appear to be blue topazes.

The connection between the two is that opal is Kelce’s birthstone, while blue topaz is the birthstone of Taylor Swift.

Gemologist Karly Bulinski explained the meaning of the two stones, stating that opal stands for “hope and purity” while topaz signifies “inner wisdom.” Bulinski estimated the cost of the ring to be about $10,000, which is a drop in the bucket for Kelce, who will make nearly $15 million this year if he hits his bonus money.

Mike Fried of The Diamond Pro, however, believes this could be far more valuable, which could take Kelce out of the picture. He stated, “The center stone on Taylor’s ring is massive and looks to be 15 carats. A high-quality opal of that size is incredibly rare, but not nearly as expensive as a diamond would be. I’d estimate it at around $175,000, if not more.”

If the ring has that price tag on it, I don’t see Kelce laying out that kind of money, which means it would be far more likely that Taylor had the ring made to show how smitten she is with her NFL boyfriend.

Fans have been going nuts over these two since they first started dating, but things really got ramped up last week when Tony Romo mistakenly called Swift Travis’ wife during a recent broadcast.

Since then, speculation has been running wild about these two, even though they have only been dating for a few months.
