Whoever recommended Christopher Wray to Donald Trump as the Director of the FBI should be put before a firing squad.
Wray, if possible, has been worse than Comey, and that is truly saying something.
Wray is now caught in another scandal for the investigations that took place into Catholics as possible domestic terrorists.
Get Your Story Straight!
In July, Wray testified before Congress, that a document regarding “racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists in radical-traditionalist Catholic ideology” was leaked from the Richmond office, the memo was then allegedly purged from the system.
When the FBI was subpoenaed to produce the document, a document that Wray claimed was only within the Richmond office, it was clear that the memo had appeared in at least two other offices.
The Daily Wire reported that the agency officials were coordinating with the Portland and Los Angeles offices.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) penned a letter to Wray demanding answers.
He wrote, “This new information suggests that the FBI’s use of its law enforcement capabilities to intrude on American’s First Amendment rights is more widespread than initially suspected and reveals inconsistencies with your previous testimony before the Committee.”
Initially, when Wray was asked about the memo, he testified, “We do not conduct investigations based on religious affiliation or practices, full stop.
“We have also now ordered our inspection division to take a look at how this happened and try to figure out how we can make sure something like this doesn’t happen again.”
Yet, this type of nonsense was going on under Comey and it has continued, even after this testimony, to continue under Wray.
Jordan is now calling into question the “accuracy, completeness, and truthfulness” of Wray’s testimony.
I have tried to defend the agency overall, but Wray is making it tougher and tougher to do that every day.
The rot in the FBI extends far deeper than I had ever imagined, and I just don’t know how this agency ever regains the trust of the American people without a massive overhaul.
