Supreme Court Declines to Delay Trump’s Sentencing

Donald Trump is having a tough few days in court.

The latest blow has again come from the Supreme Court, which has declined another motion on behalf of Trump.

This time, it was to delay sentencing in the case brought by Alvin Bragg for the hush money payments.

Sorry, Donald

Currently, sentencing was pushed back to September 18.

Trump was hoping to have the sentencing postponed until after the election, and this is also more than likely the reason that he is hesitant to debate Kamala Harris.

The last thing he wants is to provide her with more ammo to use against him during the debate in the form of a possible pending jail sentence.

Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records regarding payments made to Stormy Daniels by then-attorney Michael Cohen.

In this particular case, the motion was actually made by someone other than Trump, with Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey filing suit on behalf of Trump.

After Bailey made his motion, New York Attorney General Letitia James responded, “Missouri’s suit is based entirely on an ongoing criminal case between the Manhattan DA and former President Trump and does not present an actual controversy between sovereign States.

“Moreover, former President Trump has already raised, and the New York state courts are already adjudicating, the same issues Missouri seeks to raise, and Missouri’s claims are patently meritless.”

We have often seen the court use “standing” as an excuse to kick the can down the road, but that is truly the case here.

Missouri and Bailey literally have no connection to the case, so this was just a way for Bailey to show his loyalty to Trump while wasting taxpayers’ money.

Trump also found out this week that Judge Chutkan was moving forward with the election interference case, scheduling a standing hearing on August 16, which will likely lead to a formal trial date being set soon thereafter.
