Steve Bannon Asks for Early Release from Prison

Trump adviser Steve Bannon is hoping to get a get out of jail free card as soon as possible.

As it stands right now, Bannon would be in prison until just a few days before the election.

With Biden out and Kamala Harris in, Trump has slipped to the underdog, so it would appear that Bannon wants to get back in the game.

To be honest, Bannon never should have been sent to jail in the first place.

He has a short sentence for a non-violent crime, so you would think the courts will allow the appeals process to play out before making him serve his time.

But, as we have seen with other Trump allies, the usual rules no longer apply, and Bannon was ordered to start serving his sentence while he still has the opportunity to beat the case on appeal.

To that exact point, Bannon’s attorneys have filed a motion “to reimpose bail pending appeal or to impose supervised release.”

The appeal was filed by attorney R. Trent McCotter, who argued that “every order short of a final decree is subject to reopening at the discretion of the district judge.”

If this was any other case, I would say the argument by McCotter would lead me to believe that bail would be ordered and Bannon would be released pending the outcome of his appeals.

But, as we all know, this is no normal time, and the court bias against anything or anyone associated with Trump is very real right now.

If, however, the motion is granted, this would be a major boost for a Trump campaign that is really struggling to zero in on its attacks against Kamala Harris.

To be honest, it is rather disappointing that the RNC and Trump campaign were not better prepared for a switch Trump had even predicted several weeks before it happened.

Instead, the RND and Trump campaign have allowed Harris’ momentum from the switch and DNC to continue unimpeded.

Meanwhile, Trump has slipped in polls, and Harris is now the favorite to win.

So, yeah, Trump needs Bannon to get out of jail as quickly as possible because I know he would have no problems going after Harris on all fronts.
