Stefanik Files Complaint After Trump Gag Order Appeal Dismissed

Rep. Elise Stefanik, the House Republican Conference Chairwoman, has leaped into action after learning of a recent decision from the New York Court of Appeals.

Stefanik has Donald's back.

Former President Donald Trump attempted to appeal a gag order placed on him as part of a civil fraud case.

The New York Court of Appeals rejected that challenge.

Stefanik has now filed a complaint that challenges the court’s decision to reject Trump’s appeal.

In the complaint letter written to the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct, Stefanik wrote that “The Court dodged addressing a crucial issue, which has ramifications for all New Yorkers. Simply stated, it is unacceptable that any judge in America would place an unconstitutional gag order on a defendant.”

Stefanik also tore into the New York Court of Appeals, discussing the fact that it is Trump’s constitutional right, especially as the one on trial, to speak his truth.

“If there is anyone who must have the constitutional right to speak out against the judge, court staff, prosecutor, and process, it is a defendant going through a process he believes has been politicized and weaponized against him,” Stefanik wrote.

Stefanik hit the nail on the head.

She continued in her complaint saying, “Illegally gagging the leading presidential candidate — Democrat Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron’s election interference — is shocking and appalling.”

We could not agree more.

It is his constitutional right to exercise his freedom of speech.

No matter if you support the former president or not, Trump is an American.

As an American, he has the same constitutional rights as the rest of us.

We commend Stefanik for speaking out against a clear injustice.

People like Stefanik, who are not afraid to hold others accountable when the need arises, are the ones who make this country a better place.

No other updates surrounding Trump’s gag order have been released at this time.
