Star Dies At Just 19 After Suddenly Stricken With Rare Disease

A famous actress from Dangal, Suhani Bhatnager, has died suddenly from a rare illness.

She was only 19 years old at the time of her death.

Bhatnager passed away from inflammatory disease dermatomyositis -- a disease that causes muscle weakness and a skin rash.

The disease is so rare that fewer than ten people throughout the entire world have ever been diagnosed with what Suhani was battling in the hospital.

Her mother, Puja Bhatnager, has released a statement on her daughter’s death.

“She developed a red spot on her hands about two months ago. We consulted with doctors in different hospitals but it couldn't be diagnosed,” said Puja Bhatnager.

Her father, Sumit Bhatnager, said that Suhani’s “lungs got damaged due to an infection and accumulation of excess fluid.”

“She was put on the ventilator but there was no improvement,” Sumit Bhatnager continued.
Eventually, Suhani’s ailments simply became too much for her body to handle.

Suhani starred in Dangal as the character of Babita Phogat.

The production company, Aamir Khan, has released a statement on the young star’s death:

“We are deeply saddened to hear about our Suhani passing away. Our heartfelt condolences to her mother Poojaji and the entire family. Such a talented young girl, such a team player, 'Dangal' would have been incomplete without Suhani,” the statement read.

There is truly nothing more devastating than the death of a child.

At just 19, that's practically what Suhani was, despite her immense fame.

Maybe the most heartbreaking part of all of this is the fact that Suhani’s fans and family will never get to see just how far she could go in her career.

She already had accomplished so much in her short time on earth, more than most get to say about their whole lives.

It does not make her death any easier.

We pray for the family, cast members, and friends of Suhani Bhatnager as they grieve her loss.
