Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) surprised many Americans by saying she is glad that President Joe Biden is being investigated over the discovery of classified documents.
Omar made the comment during an interview with MSNBC's Symone Sanders-Townsend.

"I'm glad that there is a special prosecutor that's been appointed to investigate this," Omar said.
"Because any time there is a deviance in regards to security protocols, that should be taken serious, it should be investigated," she added when asked for more details regarding her response.
Omar argued there are differences between Biden's handling of documents and a similar case involving Trump. https://t.co/wtFK1ZzdWf

"So you have to understand right? Republicans are not really interested in upholding the law, in following security protocols. What they're interested in is playing a political game and now only wanting to investigate Biden," Omar also noted during the interview.
So far, three batches of classified documents have been found. The first documents were discovered in the office of the president's Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement in Washington, where he used an office from 2017 until the start of his 2020 presidential campaign.
The other two batches of files were found in his Delaware home, according to the White House. One set was found in his garage and the other was inside his home.
The contents of the documents have not been revealed. Richard Sauber, special counsel to the president, is currently investigating.
On Monday, the White House responded to Republican demands for the president to turn over visitor logs of his Delaware home by stating that no visitor logos are kept.
The concern could make the situation worse, leaving questions about who had access to the classified material.
